The Navy first authorized a khaki uniform in 1913 as a practical garment for early naval aviators; they were given permission to wear Marine Corps khaki uniforms with naval insignia, when flying or working on aircraft.[3] Khakis were authorized aboard submarines in 1931 and as a working uniform on all ships ten years later. The Service Khaki uniform today is the sole province of commissioned officers in grades O-1 through O-10, chief warrant officers in grades W-2 through W-5 (the W-1 grade is not currently in use in the U.S. Navy) and chief petty officers (also known as CPOs) in grades E-7 through E-9. It is a khaki button-up shirt and trousers, worn with a gold belt buckle. The shirt features two front flap pockets and a pointed collar.
This WW2 Style Uniform is a reconstructed US style uniform. When we put together these uniforms we try to come as close and similar as possible to the picture. It may or may not be exactly US, depending on sizing needed, because the sizes of the military people back then were generally much smaller in height and width compared to the men and women of today we often substitute similar European or Canadian pieces.
These items do take a while (at least a couple of weeks) so please adjust for that. Once you put the item into your cart and before finalizing the order, please write in the notes the sizing that you need. We will try to find the closest we have to your needs. If we do not have the sizes, we will email/text or call you as to what we do have and you can decide if that will work or if you want a refund. At this time, it is very hard to sort items if we do not have an order already in the queue
